Tasting # 292: Another Springbank 10  (11-AUG-2008)
NotesAfter a 4 year gap between the Link to another reviewFirst Springbank and the Link to another reviewSecond I barely wait 3 months before finding a third. This one puts Springbank into an entirely new category for me, no Springbank has ever scored less than 90 points on my list.
SmellLight lemon candy and Ritz crackers. Lemon grass and toffee. Very interesting.
TasteWow. Big and sweet and smooth, we start with walnuts and toffee that go to a big peak and fade where warm sherry and pipe smoke. An amazing finish, tons of sherry meet more smoke and candied almonds. A tiny stale note in the finish is like a mole on a model, just enough to make you realize how great the rest of it was. Fantastic, yet another Springbank above 90.
