| Tasting # 292: Another Springbank 10 (11-AUG-2008) | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Notes | After a 4 year gap between the First Springbank and the Second I barely wait 3 months before finding a third. This one puts Springbank into an entirely new category for me, no Springbank has ever scored less than 90 points on my list. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Smell | Light lemon candy and Ritz crackers. Lemon grass and toffee. Very interesting. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Taste | Wow. Big and sweet and smooth, we start with walnuts and toffee that go to a big peak and fade where warm sherry and pipe smoke. An amazing finish, tons of sherry meet more smoke and candied almonds. A tiny stale note in the finish is like a mole on a model, just enough to make you realize how great the rest of it was. Fantastic, yet another Springbank above 90. | ||||||||||||||||||||
