Tasting # 64: Friday Leftovers I: Wedding Bells  (26-JAN-2007)
NotesMy last tasting of Link to another reviewSeagrams 7 Crown was at a cousin's wedding, so I'm kicking off the Friday retastes with wedding-related whiskies.
SmellSmells like rye, low key though and really mild. There's a few flowery smells in here somewhere, but they're weak and tough to nail down.
TasteThe taste is very sweet and bitter, somewhat acidic but mostly a sharpness that has nothing to do with the accompanying alcohol burst. There's rye and dark smoke followed by a rush of vinegar. There's not much finish aside from the tight alcohol and whatever that bitter flavor is. I'm going to move this into the high 20s, but this is more an adjustment than a promotion.

Tasting # 16: Archive Review: Seagram 7 Crown  (19-FEB-2006)
NotesArchived Review
SmellN/A
TasteThere's a thin syrupy sweet top taste, something like apple cider, that sits on the surface of the astringent lake of fire that is S7. It is, I'm aware, essentially mix fodder, but I don't drink a lot of mixed drinks, and it was free... and there you are. I am not really looking forward to expanding either my Rye or Seagrams review list anytime soon based on this product.

Simply vile. Initial taste is sugary water with a hint of apple vinegar. Thick like light syrup. Has a little peppery tingle then fades quickly and blandly. Gross.
