A Blend is a combination of just about anything that can be called whisky, and are often scorned by the single malt crowd. Sadly, this snubbing of blends is not without cause. The range of single malts, for exmaple, tends toward the higher end of the quality scale while blends run from the absolute depths of the worst to the heights of fantastic. So it just takes a little more research and care to avoid the ugly ducklings that tarnish the Blend name.
