A whisky is a Single Malt if it uses only malted barley and all of the whisky in the bottle comes from the same distillery. Unless it specifies “Single Cask” or “Single Barrel” the bottle probably contains a mix of whiskies from the distillery and the age statement (if any) indicates the youngest whisky in the bottle.
